about

STREAMING AVAILABLE FROM 5th August 2023

Helga Dorothea Fannon and Haroon Mirza were invited on a residency by Verbier 3-D Foundation to become immersed in the local alpine environment to develop new work responding to current debates referencing environmental topics of water and energy inspired by the materials, technologies and ecological knowledge sourced from the surrounding landscape of Verbier, Switzerland. This audiovisual work was developed in conjunction with a solar sculpture in the landscape.

lyrics

Liquid light, glass and groove polished by corroded filaments emitting in the snow.

Like frozen fireflies permitting the Soil Horizon.

Geometry carved out by the rhythms of their trapped to be wings.
Scattering a thousand new comets and realities in the void.

A watchful eye of metamorphic quartz and flux on a hedonistic path.

Water passing my veins and my ocular ajna
Energy humming like the planets.

Form dissolving under my wake.

Fused beyond un recognised trails

Of moss and cracks and pines en act.

Sharing bodies of hybridised fusions.

Of internal growth and spread out streams.

Harboured and arrested in a state a dormant life.

The ants knew but we didn’t.

Tips rose to peaked out sights.

Mountains of trembles and shards.

Under a celestial wake of littered blessings

And skeletal roots seeking refuge

In my historic embrace.

Serene swirls tracing

The lack of permanence

And obsidian dreams phasing

Under clustered heads and warning streaks

Of cadmium orange

Under the left wing of my self sustained planets,

Of succulent minds and torrential moss

Verging and feeding on the slow yielding

Of my sedimentary consciousness.

Where sound and movement has conjoined and the pollen never settles.
